Review & Feedback
How do clinical teams collaborate and collect real-time reviews using Get Feedback?
Before deploying a finalized consent document to a patient, it must often be reviewed by senior medical staff, legal advisors, or institutional review boards (IRBs). The Get Feedback workspace provides a secure, interactive Review Room that enables real-time collaboration on drafts, precision text highlighting, and cryptographic safety boundaries.
Why is the Get Feedback workspace important for compliance?
In short, informed consent documents are highly sensitive legal records. Passing drafts back and forth over standard email introduces severe security vulnerabilities, creates fragmented draft histories, and risks compromising pre-publication research data. The Get Feedback workspace solves this by hosting all reviews inside a secure environment. It allows clinical teams, investigators, and legal counsels to collaborate instantly, resolve adjustments, and build consensus, ensuring that the finalized document is medically precise and legally airtight before deployment.
What is the Get Feedback workspace?
The Get Feedback workspace is a secure collaboration panel accessible directly from the builder header. When a coordinator triggers a review, the platform generates a unique, secure review link and a shared Access PIN. By sharing this link and PIN with authorized colleagues, the coordinator initiates a live, dual-pane Review Room.
How does the real-time Review Room work?
The Review Room splits the screen into a Document Viewer on the left and a Review Chat thread on the right, providing distinct capabilities depending on your role in the review session:
How does a reviewer leave precision highlights?
Reviewers (such as legal counsel or principal investigators) can read through the draft and highlight any specific word, phrase, or paragraph.
- Leave Comment: Highlighting text instantly spawns a floating green button labeled Leave Comment.
- High-Contrast Markers: Tapping the button anchors a new comment thread directly to that selected sentence, wrapping it in a vibrant, high-contrast yellow highlight block.
- Auto-Scrolling: Clicking any comment card in the chat automatically scrolls the document viewer to focus directly on the highlighted text segment.
How do participants chat in real time?
The Review Room uses an instant synchronization network to enable live collaboration:
- Presence Indicators: Visual badges at the top of the chat show if the other party is currently Online or Offline in the room.
- Typing Indicators: Real-time alerts notify you when the other user is actively typing a reply.
- Instant Updates: Comments and replies are synchronized across all screens instantly, allowing for active brainstorming and instant feedback.
How are comment threads resolved?
The document coordinator (the Sender) is responsible for addressing the reviewer’s feedback:
- Collaborative Replies: The sender can reply directly to the highlight card to explain medical justifications or legal compliance wording.
- Mark as Resolved: Once an adjustment is agreed upon, the coordinator clicks the Resolve button. This automatically clears the yellow highlight from the canvas and marks the comment thread as resolved, keeping the team focused on remaining drafts.
How does zero-knowledge cryptography protect the feedback room?
Because review comments frequently discuss proprietary research parameters or sensitive medical details, the feedback room is protected by Zero-Knowledge Encryption:
- Shared Access PIN: Senders and reviewers must enter the shared Access PIN to access the Review Room.
- Browser-Level Encryption: The browser uses the shared PIN and the review session ID to derive a local encryption key.
- Secure Envelopes: All review comments and highlighted text snippets are fully encrypted inside your browser before they are sent to the cloud.
- Zero-knowledge Privacy: The cloud database only stores scrambled, unreadable ciphertext. This ensures that the platform cannot read your team’s confidential internal reviews or data, keeping your institutional records strictly secure.
